Stay Current. Stay Certified.

Continuing education helps to ensure that credentialed professionals stay current with industry standards and best practices.
Accredited Dealers and Certified Door Technicians must earn 9 hours of Continuing Education, or CEUs, during their three-year renewal cycle.
Those with Gate Certifications must earn 12 hours of CEUs during their three-year renewal cycle.

Continuing Education must be documented industry-related training, and credits can be earned through:

  • Educational seminars offered at industry events, such as Expo, EduCon, and regional shows.
  • Manufacturer-provided technical training.
  • In-house safety training, limited to 3 hours per renewal term.
  • Obtaining additional IDEA certifications or other credentials related to the trade or industry.
  • On-line training, webinars, and other distance learning resources.
  • Other IDEA-approved training or education opportunities.
